Adam Stiles - CEO
Adam is a freelance editor and publicist in the nonprofit and corporate sectors. He has volunteered for inner-city food justice, green job creation and green building, voter turnout and poll monitoring in the 2004 and 2008 presidential elections, independent media, media literacy, human rights in Iraq and Israel/Palestine, and services for people living with HIV and AIDS. His appreciation for the value of cultural exchange came from life-changing experiences while living abroad in London and Paris and while traveling in Brazil.
Ashley Brock - Secretary
Ashley is pursuing a PhD in Comparative Literature at the University of California, Berkeley. She specializes in Latin American cultures and literatures and has lived and worked in Bolivia, Argentina, and Brazil. She is an experienced ESL teacher and literacy tutor. She has recently worked for nonprofits including the National Outdoor Leadership School and Art, Research & Curriculum Associates.
Christopher J. Long - CFO
Chris Long is an ecologist with professional artistic training from the College of Architecture, Art and Planning at Cornell University. He has traveled widely in Europe and the Americas, and has worked with non-profits in the U.S, Brazil and Nicaragua.
Elizabeth Boyarsky
Elizabeth spent a memorable four months in Brazil at AEC-TEA, teaching English and a yoga/pilates class from August 2008-December 2008. She has volunteered with GirlVentures and Support for Families With Disabilities in San Francisco. Her past work experience includes working as a reporter, in public relations and advertising, and teaching. She is a Bay Area native who enjoys spending time in the sun (preferably a beach), adventures in and out of the city, anything Bahian, and spending quality time with friends and family.
Christopher Bach
Chris Bach recently graduated from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Graduate degree in Architecture. Apart from Architecture, he has experience working in Graphic Design and Landscape Architecture. Before entering design, Chris focused upon the study of foreign cultures and is fluent in Spanish and Portuguese. He studied in France and Italy, and has taught in the United States, Spain, and Brazil.
